Project Management
Once an organization is awarded and accepts a foreign task, an implementation plan is initiated. If written with full knowledge of the environment and with full situational awareness, the plan itself should contain all of the necessary adjustments and protocols that are required to mitigate risks and to allow a given organization to perform successfully.
Often, adjustments to an implementation plan may require an organization to stray from its core competencies and to supplement its efforts with additional undertakings and resources to overcome inadequacies within the target environment or within the organization itself. This is especially true when an organization is about to go operational in an environment where it either has little experience or no pre-positioned assets and resources. This is also true when an environment lacks necessary infrastructure or when the risk is dynamic and levels are askew.
The combined experience of SAM personnel in high-risk and complex environments, our ability to understand all of the nuances of a local environment, our ability to identify and mitigate risks, and the various alliances that we have developed within specific geographical and industry sectors place SAM in a strong position to provide a full range of Project Management services.
If the hypothetical organization above were a SAM client and SAM had performed both SRA and Risk Management services for the project in question, then SAM would be in a perfect position to assist in standing up the project and providing or otherwise coordinating the supplemental services necessary for project success.
SAM engages in project management in two ways:
Consultative and advisory services
In this capacity, SAM manages a project on behalf of our client, and we act as the 'integrator' of a project, ensuring that all essential components are identified, united, amalgamated and functioning effectively toward project objectives in the most efficient and effective manner based on a given operating environment.
Managing, ensuring and verifying contractual compliance and performance.
In this capacity, SAM acts as the strategic 'overseer' and 'verifier,' applying a non-traditional focus to Project Management and practices to a traditional process. In this regard, we have distinguished three key project stages that are concurrently and consecutively managed during a given project's lifespan:
- Market Entry and Project Planning
- Project Execution (Monitoring and Evaluation)
- Project Completion Analysis
