SAM will manage the progression of our client's project through the duration of its lifespan.
The general purpose of incorporating monitoring within SAM Project Management is to produce timely evaluation regarding the impact of the defined project. Ongoing monitoring allows SAM to adjust plans and resources that are being managed in order to ensure that project needs and objectives are being met.
SAM monitors projects for contract compliance and performance, highlighting the need to ensure accountability and transparency throughout the lifespan of the project.
Monitoring services offered by SAM fulfill several objectives, including:
- Monitoring the development of the project as a whole, and of component parts in relation to the project as a whole;
- Monitoring the project progress in relation to goals, timelines and the emergence of unforeseen obstacles;
- Implementing a rapid risk-identification and management system to alleviate any disruptions, and to maximize stakeholder confidence; and
- Facilitating internal communications among project stakeholders
SAM evaluation, on the other hand, seeks to provide an objective assessment of project development, isolating successes and failures from which lessons can be learned for future reference. Although evaluation is often conducted at the end of a project, it is a principle of SAM to conduct phased evaluations to ensure that any failures can be addressed immediately.
In order to conduct project evaluation, SAM has developed a system of indicators that can be adapted to specific project types but are capable of measuring effectiveness, efficiency, impact and compliance on a real-time basis.
