Countermeasures
The second major component of SAM's Risk Management services is to determine how best our client can manage itself against the probable risks it faces.
There are several ways in which risks can be efficiently managed, including:
- Assessment of Established Security Policies
- Continuity/Contingency Planning
- Physical Security Measures
Assessment of Established Security Policies
Working closely with our client, SAM can assess written security policies to determine their functional compatibility with prevalent threats and the operating environment. In order to help a client establish a comprehensive security policy, we can facilitate the development of a pre-emptive and preventive security environment.
Continuity / Contingency Planning
In the current risk management environment, characterized by increasing risks to multinational interests, SAM can offer crisis management and contingency planning services that focus on the following areas:
- Assess the likelihood of the client being a target of terrorism or sabotage; or victim of natural disasters;
- Review existing risk mitigation documents, crisis management and contingency plans with respect to the nature of any risk identified in the clients areas of operation;
- Aid clients in establishing policies and contingency plans; and
- Provide clients with fresh intelligence, analysis and advice during times of crisis.
Physical Security Measures
Although SAM does not directly provide physical security products and/or services, our alliances with security providers and intimate knowledge and experience within the security sector places us in a prime position to aid clients in the following areas:
- Identification of physical and technical security requirements
- Identification and selection of suitable providers/suppliers
- Integration of a physical security system into a client's risk mitigation strategy
- Oversight and management of force-protection services
- Ongoing and relevant situational intelligence reports
